My trip has been built around the volunteer programs I am doing. Volunteering programs are good because you’re helping, you’re giving back but you’re also meeting people. You’re in a group. You’re not traveling completely on your own in those situations which is good. I don’t feel scared anymore about my trip.
I worked three jobs to fund my trip. I worked my full-time job, as medical receptionist. Then I asked one of my friends if I could work at his shop which is kind of a supermarket. Finally, I became an Uber driver as well. I still went on 8 hours of sleep. When I started planning I was really nervous about it, just like meeting new people. But after ubering, picking up strangers all the time, and I was doing it twice a week, you get in the motion of talking to people a lot more.

I did a lot of my travel planning at work between patients. A lot of them coming were going overseas. So, I was finding out where they were going, asked questions. I got heaps of tips. By the end everyone was like asking me about my trip.
I have always wanted to travel. I did not travel much when I was young cause I was with my ex for so long and he’d never gone overseas. So now I am trying to fit all into one. It’s kind of my last chance to do one big trip. You know, before I have to start thinking about all that other stuff, like adulting.
Now I am just going with the flow.
